Newington successfully helps clients secure planning consent

Newington successfully helps clients secure planning consent

Through strategic communications and effective engagement across the country, Newington has recently helped a number of clients secure planning consents. We are very proud to have helped our clients on such projects involving all tiers of local government and various communities.

  • Thornsett Group with the Purley Baptist Church secured planning consent on its mixed-use development in Croydon. The scheme includes 220 homes, a new Church, community facilities and a sports hall.
  • Peel Group secured planning consent to deliver a £15 million regeneration project including the renovation of the Peel Centre and the construction of a new megastore for a major retailer. Despite the recommendation for refusal, cross-party support at Gloucester City Council saw the scheme approved. See here for more detail.
  • Sav Group secured planning consent to deliver a 32 bedroom HMO development for the private rented market. The scheme was approved at Harrow Council.
  • Bellway Homes secured planning consent in Rainham, Essex. The scheme for 46 homes was unanimously approved by Havering Council.

The Newington team have a strong understanding of the political and community landscape and can deliver effective strategic advice. With five offices across the country (London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, and Essex), we will be happy to advise on current projects and offer political appraisals for future projects that you are considering. Please do get in touch for more information.
