Muniya leads Newington’s corporate affairs practice and works across a number of sectors including education, healthcare, financial and professional services. She combines communications experience with a background in print and broadcast journalism. She joined Newington from the UK’s biggest lobby group, the CBI, where she was Director of Corporate Communications where she was responsible for leading its media, digital, commercial and marketing arms, including delivering its flagship annual conference. She joined the CBI in 2008 as a senior press officer, before being promoted to Head of News in 2012 with responsibility for the day to day running of the media and digital team.
Her previous comms roles include at the Royal College of Nursing. She began her career as a business reporter at the Liverpool Daily Post, rising to Night News Editor and Acting Features Editor. She has also produced news bulletins for London Today and London Tonight, as well as business and economics news for CNN and the BBC.
