On Friday 13 January, Newington and Cambre Associates held a joint roundtable exploring current EU negotiations and the practical implications of Brexit for businesses, with leader of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group, Syed Kamall MEP.
The event, which took place under the Chatham House Rule, provided a forum for the most senior Conservative politician in the European Parliament to speak frankly and openly to business leaders about Brexit negotiations.
Phil Briscoe, Managing Director at Newington, said:
“Friday’s event gave those around the table a real insight into the thinking of the Conservative leadership. Theresa May’s comments yesterday (Tuesday 17 January) have further demonstrated the need for businesses to engage with the Government to ensure UK business interests are properly represented in Brexit negotiations. As UK businesses plan for the impact of Brexit, discussions like this are invaluable to help inform businesses’ pre and post Brexit strategies”.
