What will the election and Queen's Speech mean for the energy and education policy sectors?

Join our conference calls for analysis of what the election result and Queen's Speech mean for the energy and education sectors

Following the General Election and the Queen's Speech, Newington will be hosting sector-specific conference calls to offer in-depth analysis of what they mean for key policy areas.

Friday 23 June at 1pm: what does the General Election result mean for the UK’s energy sector?

Energy and climate policy has been thrust into the spotlight with the shock General Election result. This Friday, Newington Managing Director Naomi Harris and energy lead Clem Cowton will reflect on what a minority Conservative Government means for the legislative and regulatory agenda that affects how the UK generates, transmits and uses energy.

Speakers:

  • Managing Director, Naomi Harris
  • Senior Account Manager, Clem Cowton

Monday 26 June at 1pm: what does the General Election result mean for education policy?

Debate over education policy is set to be galvanised over the course of the next Parliament. The future of Conservative plans to allow the creation of more grammar schools looks uncertain as the Party governs as a minority. Criticism of changes to school funding will no doubt be front and centre too with the forthcoming implementation of the new National Funding Formula, while the Government will be keen to continue its apprenticeships and skills agenda. Newington Public Affairs Director Chris White and Account Director Victoria Morgan will reflect on these issues – and also consider what Labour’s election result means for the sector.

Speakers:

  • Director of Public Affairs, Chris White
  • Account Director, Victoria Morgan
